Cumulus Media has announce the appointment of Jim Fox as Operations Manager for its Kansas City MO cluster and Program Director of Classic Hits 94.9 KCMO-FM Shawnee KS.
Fox most recently spent seventeen years at Entercom where he programmed Alternative “Radio 94.7” KKDO and “98 Rock” 98.5 KRXQ Sacramento and later served as VP/Programming from 2003 to 2017. He then moved to Dallas as Vice President of Music Programming and Program Director of Variety Hits “100.3 Jack-FM” KJKK and Alternative “Alt 103.7” KVIL until departing the company last September. Fox has also served as OM/PD of 92.9 WMFS Memphis TN and 98.9 WBYR Fort Wayne IN.
Fox fills the KCMO-FM PD slot that had been held by Joe Russo until his move to Cumulus’ Classic Rock “97 Rock” 96.9 WGRF-FM Buffalo NY earlier this month.

Fox joins Cumulus Kansas City following a 17-year career with Audacy/Entercom Communications, where he was Vice President, Programming, for the company’s four Dallas, TX, music stations, and prior to that, was Vice President, Programming, for their six Sacramento, CA, stations. He was also Rock/Alternative Format Captain for Entercom Communications.
