Jim Colony Retires From Mornings At 93.7 The Fan

Jim Colony has announced his full-time retirement from mornings at Audacy Sports “93.7 The Fan” KDKA-FM Pittsburgh.

Colony has been part of the KDKA-FM morning show since the station’s 2010 flip to Sports, most recently alongside Colin Dunlap and Chris Mack as co-host and update anchor. He worked at ABC/ESPN’s News/Talk 1250 WTAE from 1991-97 and then Sports “ESPN 1250” WEAE from 2000 to 2009. The New Hampshire native previously worked at WORD Spartanburg SC and as sportscaster for Matty In The Morning on CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM Boston.

He will continue to work as a fill-in host for KDKA-FM and contribute online content and on promotional events.

Colony told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, “I’m still not ready to not do sports radio. This is a perfect solution, and I’m really happy they’re letting me do this where I can fill in…. I get to go out on my own terms and work on my own terms. That’s really unusual for people in my position.”
