Jaye Powers Takes Afternoons At 105.1 The X Kansas City

Cumulus Media Rock/Alternative “105.1 The X” KCJK Garden City/Kansas City MO has announced the promotion of Jaye Powers to afternoon host.

Powers has been in the cluster since 2020 as producer of the “Kelly and Mackenzie” morning show on Classic Hits 94.9 KCMO-FM and a weekend host on KCJK. He also works on the sideline production team for the Kansas City Chiefs.

He fills the slot that had been held by Cassiday Proctor, who is on her way to a yet-to-be-announced role at Cumulus Buffalo NY.

CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has appointed Jaye Powers as On-Air Host, Afternoon Drive, for Kansas City Rock radio station 105.1 The X, KCJK-FM. Powers can be heard on 105.1 The X weekday afternoons from 3:00pm-7:00pm. Previously hosting Afternoon Drive, Cassiday Proctor transfers to Cumulus Buffalo-Erie.

Powers joined Cumulus Kansas City in 2020. In addition to weekend host duties on 105.1 The X, he served as in-studio producer of sister-station 94.9 KCMO-FM’s top-ranked “Kelly and Mackenzie” morning show. Powers remains part of the sideline production team for Kansas City Chiefs home games.

Jaye Powers remarked: “I’m thrilled to have this opportunity and contribute to our next steps growing the huge KC rock brand of 105.1 The X. Many thanks to Donna Baker, Jim Fox, and Jagger for the trust and consideration, also to Kelly Urich and Mackenzie Justice for letting me learn while being a part of record ratings on 94.9 KCMO.”
