Jason Dick Departs Mornings At 101X

Deb O'Keefe Jason Dick 101X KROX AustinAfter spending his entire 22 year career with Waterloo Media Alternative “101X” KROX-FM Buda/Austin, Jason Dick has departed the station.

Dick had anchored mornings at KROX since 2004 after previously serving as its producer. From 2006 until her exit in March 2021, Dick had been teamed with Deb O’Keefe for the obviously named “Jason & Deb” show. The program was then renamed “Jason Dick & Friends” as Emily Svahn joined the show alongside Dick and producer/co-host Nick Hajda. They will remain on-board for what is now “The Morning X”. Dick previously pulled double-duty hosting an afternoon Sports show for sister News/Talk 590 KLBJ.

In a Twitter thread Dick wrote, “My 101x contract will not be renewed. Yesterday was my last show. I’ll talk about it somewhere, someday but want to say I have nothing but immense gratitude for my now former employers. I was hired 11/17/2000 & the 22 years that followed gave me a life I never imagined possible. Thanks: Trina Quinn who first put me on the morning show. The perfect boss Lynn Barstow. My partner Deb O’keefe, love u. Jake, Toby, Mike, Cass, Alex, Katy, Spenny, mom, Bumblina, my fucking ex wife, Steven, Trevin, AC, Langer, Christy, Emily, DaveB, B-DOE, Ed fucking Clements!!! …and OF COURSE LAST but not least my #1 friend, Nick Hadja. He is the funniest guy I know, a truly strong spirit, and I was never as good as when he was by my side, dragging me down. Good luck, amigo. And all you listener types. Y’all are the ones this really sucks for. I know y’all need these jokes! Thx for letting me go in your ear holes.”
