Nielsen begins its monthly release of PPM ratings with today’s Day 1 update including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston/Galveston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Long Island, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Jose, and Middlesex/Somerset/Union.

Q104.3 WAXQ New YorkiHeartMedia AC “106.7 Lite-FM” WLTW holds onto the lead down from its Christmas 10.4 to a 6.5. iHeart Classic Rock “Q104.3” WAXQ rises 5.1 to 5.9 for what Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is not only an all-time record high for the frequency, but also the highest for any Rock station ever in New York. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM rises 4.1 to 5.6. MediaCo Adult R&B 107.5 WBLS is fourth down 5.9 to 5.5. SBS Spanish Tropical “Mega 97.9” WSKQ dips 5.5 to 5.2.

iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” WHTZ rises 4.3 – 4.5 – 4.9, while sister Hot AC 103.5 WKTU is up 3.2 – 3.8 – 4.0. MediaCo Hip Hop “Hot 97” WQHT slides 2.7 – 2.4 – 2.2.

Red Apple Media Talk 770 WABC rises 3.1 to 3.9, iHeartMedia Conservative Talk 710 WOR is up 1.1 to 1.7, while Public News/Talk 93.9 WNYC-FM jumps 2.8 to 3.8.

660 101.9 WFAN WFAN-FM New York CBS Sports RadioHuff notes that Audacy Sports 660 WFAN/101.9 WFAN-FM’s 3.3 share combined with the 2.0 registered by its stream this month is the largest combined share for the brand in its history.

Los Angeles

94.7 The Wave KTWV Los AnglesiHeartMedia AC 103.5 KOST holds onto the Los Angeles lead 13.1 to 6.8. Audacy Classic Hits “K-Earth 101” KRTH is second 4.7 to 4.9. Audacy Rhythmic AC “94.7 The Wave” KRTH rises 3.4 to 4.7. iHeartMedia Hot AC “104.3 My-FM” KBIG is up 3.9 to 4.6. Univision Spanish AC “107.5 K-Love” KLVE is up 4.2 to 4.3.

iHeartMedia News/Talk 640 KFI trends down 4.7 – 4.4 – 4.1.

iHeart CHR 102.7 KIIS-FM rises 3.0 to 3.6. Audacy Alternative 106.7 KROQ trends up 1.7 – 2.0 – 2.2. Jazz 88.1 KKJZ trends up 1.1 – 1.3 – 1.7.

Chicago

The big winner of the month is Audacy AAA 93.1 WXRT, which in the aftermath of the passing of longtime host Lin Brehmer, surges up 3.1 to 6.1 to set a station all-time record high. Hubbard Classic Rock “97.1 The Drive” WDRV rises 5.0 to 5.9. Audacy News 780 WBBM/105.9 WCFS dips 4.8 to 4.5. Hubbard Hot AC “101.9 The Mix” WTMX rises 3.7 to 4.3 to tie iHeartMedia CHR “103.5 Kiss-FM” WKSC whose 2.9 to 4.3 gain gives them its best share since October 2016.

iHeartMedia Adult R&B “V103” WVAZ trends down 5.3 – 5.0 – 4.2, while sister “Rock 95.5” WCHI slides 2.5 – 1.9 – 1.7, and Hip Hop 107.5 WGCI is down 2.5 – 2.3 – 1.7.

Salem Christian AC 94.9 KLTY trends up 2.1 – 3.2 – 3.4. iHeartMedia’s recently launched Hot Talk “97.1 The Freak” KEGL rises 0.9 to 1.5.

Radio One Adult R&B “Magic 107.5/97.5” WAMJ/WUMJ dips to second 8.3 to 7.9. Cox’s trio of AC “B98.5” WSB-FM (6.9 to 6.6), News/Talk 750 WSB/95.5 WSBB (4.4 to 6.3), and Adult R&B “Kiss 104.1” WALR (steady at 5.4) round out the top five.

iHeartMedia Country “94.9 The Bull” KUBL rises 2.7 to 3.7 to pull away from Cumulus’ “New Country 101.5” WKHX as it slips 2.7 to 2.3.

Radio One Hip Hop “Hot 107.9” WHTA surges up 3.2 to 4.6. Public News/Talk 90.1 WABE-FM rebounds 3.0 to 3.8. Radio One Gospel “Praise 102.5” WPZE surges 1.5 to 2.4. Regional Mexican “La Invasora 87.7” WTBS-LD trends up 0.7 – 1.0 – 1.3.

Audacy Hip Hop/R&B “V103” WVEE dips 5.6 to 4.6 and Rhythmic AC “Star 94.1” WSTR dips 2.4 to 1.8.

Cumulus relaunch of “99X” 100.5 WNNX continues to rise since its debut moving 1.1 – 2.2 – 2.6.

Philadelphia

102.9 WMGK Philadelphia Classic RockBeasley Media Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK rises 6.0 to 7.3 to stake a claim to the Philadelphia lead for the first time since November 2020. Audacy Sports 94.1 WIP rises 5.9 to 6.9 (but adds an additional 1.2 to 1.6 gain for its stream). iHeartMedia Adult R&B 105.3 WDAS-FM is up 6.5 to 6.6. Beasley Media Rock 93.3 WMMR jumps up 5.4 to 6.5. Audacy AC “B101” WBEB (16.8 to 5.8) and News 1060 KYW/103.9 WPHI (6.2 to 5.8) tie for fifth.

Public News/Talk 90.9 WHYY-FM see-saws 5.2 – 3.6 – 5.0. Beasley Variety Hits “95.7 Ben-FM” WBEN-FM rises 3.2 to 4.1. iHeartMedia Spanish CHR “Rumba 106.1” WUMR rises 2.0 to 2.6 and Alternative “Alt 104.” WRFF is up 1.6 to 2.2.

It says “Not New York and Not Philadelphia”, but Townsquare Media’s “New Jersey 101.5” WKXW becomes the top commercial talker in Philadelphia with a 1.0 – 1.2 – 1.5 gain. Audacy’s 1210 WPHT rises 0.8 to 1.1, while its stream dips 0.5 to 0.3.

Long Island
