James Rabe has exited his roles as Brand Manager and Morning Host at Townsquare Media AC “Y105” KYBA Stewartville/Rochester MN and host of Townsqaure and Compass Media Networks’ “The Night Shift“.
Rabe has been with KYBA since 2015 after a previous sixteen year stint in the market at CHR 106.9 KROC-FM from 1991 to 2007 where he spent time in multiple dayparts including nights, afternoons and mornings. He also spent time in mornings at “FM 105.1” KLTA Fargo ND and “Hot 100” KZDX Twin Falls ID.
Townsquare Rochester Director of Content Troy Dunken will add the programming duties at KYBA. Rabe told the Rochester Post-Bulletin his position was eliminated due to budget cuts, ““You are your family, your friends, your world. And that has helped me a lot on this one. The executives at Townsquare Media are good people. They don’t want to do this. It’s not personal. It’s a business thing.”
Rabe also hosted the syndicated Classic Hits show “The Night Shift” since last September when he succeeded original host Craig Allen. We are awaiting official word, but have been told that the show will feature guest hosts until its final broadcast on February 17.
