Jack Oliver Joins Classic Hits 92.7 Wichita

Longtime Wichita programmer and personality Jack Oliver debuted this morning on Murfin Media’s “Classic Hits 92.7” KWME Wellington/Wichita.

Oliver “retired” from Audacy’s competing Classic Hits 103.7 KEYN in June after nineteen years with the station as Program Director mostly in afternoons before moving to mornings in 2020. His career began in Wichita in 1969 before returning in 1973 with a six year stint at 1240 KAKE before beginning a 24 year run at CHR 107.3 KKRD in 1980, where he would remain until moving to KEYN-FM.

KWME debuted its Classic Hits format later in June where we noted it was likely Oliver would join the station upon the conclusion of his non-compete clause. The station briefly rebranded as “92.7 The River” in October, but has since returned to its original branding. Oliver will be heard weekdays from 6am until 12pm. He told the Wichita Eagle, “It’s a new opportunity to start a new radio station up.”
