Jack Harris Let Go From WFLA After 53 Year Run In Tampa

Jack Harris 970 WFLA TampaVeteran Tampa area morning host Jack Harris has been let go from iHeartMedia News/Talk 970 WFLA Tampa.

Harris told the Tampa Bay Times, “After I signed off from my show at 7 a.m. today, iHeartRadio bosses told me that they were cutting back on expenses and had to let me go.”

The 81 year-old Harris hosted at WFLA from 1970-1974, 1975-1985, and since 1993. His show was cut back to 5-7am in December 2021. He has also hosted mornings in the Tampa market on CHR “Q105” WRBQ from 1985-89 and 93.3 WFLZ from 1989-93. He has also served as an anchor and commentator for multiple television stations in the Tampa market. He had a brief stint in Washington DC at 980 WRC and 93.9 WKYS in 1974-75 in between his first two runs at WFLA after beginning his career at WAJR Morgantown WV.
