iHeartRadio Chief Product Officer Chris Williams Adds General Manager Duties

iHeartMedia has promoted iHeartRadio Chief Product Officer Chris Williams to General Manager as he assumes some of the duties being relinquished by outgoing COO Darren Davis.

Williams has been with the company since 2005 serving in radio programming roles in Atlanta, Cincinnati and nationally before being promoted to SVP/Programming for iHeartRadio in 2013. He was promoted to Chief Product Officer in 2014 adding oversight of the Product Innovations, Product Marketing, UXD and the Digital Content Programming teams for the iHeartRadio platform.

In a memo announcing the promotion, iHeartMedia Digital Audio Group CEO Conal Byrne wrote, “I’m excited to announce today that Chris Williams is being elevated to the role of General Manager & Chief Product Officer for iHeartRadio. With Darren Davis leaving us soon, Chris will now report directly to me and help to guide and coordinate operations across our incredible Product, Engineering, Editorial and Social teams, which are driving so much of our growth.”

“Chris has risen through the ranks, starting at the local level in our company’s core radio business as a programmer and air talent, and over the past decade he’s flourished in our digital organization, helping to build iHeartRadio into the multiplatform leader that it is today. Please join me in congratulating Chris on his new responsibilities.”
