iHeartMedia Minneapolis has announced the promotion of Barb Neren to Director of Marketing and Partnerships for the cluster.
Neren has spent her entire career at the cluster starting as a promotions assistant in 2003. She previously has held Promotions Director duties for 97.1 KTCZ and 101.3 KDWB and has been Director of Events since 2014. Neren also makes weekly on-air appearances on Sports “100.3 KFAN” KFXN-FM as ‘Lil’ B’ and hosts weekends on “Cities 97.1” KTCZ as ‘Barbara K’.
iHeartMedia announced that Barb Neren has been elevated to Director of Marketing and Partnerships for Minneapolis, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Minneapolis has a strong cross-platform presence and includes iconic brands and franchises encompassing more than six stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Director of Marketing and Partnerships, Neren will be responsible for overseeing the market’s marketing, promotions, events and partnership efforts. She will report to Greg Alexander, Market President for iHeartMedia Minneapolis.
“I am excited to see Barb promoted into this expanded role,” said Alexander. “Her industry knowledge, both on the promotions and programming side of the business, will serve her well as she leads our marketing and partnership efforts.”
Neren joined the iHeartMedia Minneapolis team in 2003 and most recently served as Director of Sponsorships and Events. Her leadership while events were shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic showcased Neren’s ingenuity. She was able to create events to connect listeners with their favorite on-air personalities and artists whether that was via Facebook Live or virtual concerts like KDWB’s Star Party. Neren can also be heard Fridays on KFAN 100.3 and weekends on Cities 97.1.
“I am honored to lead this team,” said Neren. “While we have loved finding new and creative ways to bring our listeners, advertisers and artists together virtually, we are looking forward to our events being live and in person once again.”
