iHeartMedia has cut ties with Atlanta Regional President Drew Lauter.
WSB-TV reports that iHeart confirmed Lauter’s exit today after a video of Lauter from August 2021 recorded by a coworker showed Lauter in the backseat of a car coming back from a charity event with other staffers from the company was released. Lauter was shown making profane and racial comments telling the drive to run over certain people of color in not-so-kind language. WSB-TV also stated on air that was not the first time Lauter used racial language in front of employees and was shown on the video groping the driver of the vehicle.
Lauter joined iHeartMedia in September 2019 to run their Madison WI cluster. He moved to Atlanta in 2020. He was a newcomer to the radio industry after previously working with many startup tech companies including serving as President of Qello Music and COO of LynQ. He was also CEO of DXJ Capital and Demand Worldwide Inc.
