Today, on Valentine’s Day, Hubbard Radio Seattle launches a new Triple A formatted radio station, 98.9 KPNW “Seattle’s Home For Music Lovers.” Hubbard Seattle Operations Manager Scott Mahalick leads the new effort as Brand Content Director while retaining oversight of the other four Seattle Brands. Well known industry AAA consultant Mike Henry and his team at Paragon are assisting Mahalick.

98.9 KPNW Brand Content Director & Operations Manager Scott Mahalick said, “The new 98.9 KPNW fills a void in the Seattle market that our local research and gut instincts identified as a station that people will embrace.”

As the heart of the Pacific Northwest, Seattle is steeped in culture that is at once uniquely local and representative of an entire region. 98.9 KPNW is a local radio station that embodies Seattle and the PNW. Daring to take uncommon risks for radio, 98.9 KPNW avoids the one size fits all formula and plays a little bit of this and a little bit of that. New music from independent artists such as Jack White, Lumineers, Spoon, and Wet Leg. Classic music from mainstays including Bob Marley, Dave Matthews, Eagles, John Lennon, Marvin Gaye, and many others. A wide variety of styles from indie rock, soul, blues, reggae, classic rock, and alternative. A healthy dose of PNW music, from growing local artists such as Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, Car Seat Headrest, and Perfume Genius, to iconic local artists including Pearl Jam, Death Cab for Cutie, Nirvana, Modest Mouse, and Foo Fighters.

Seattle Vice President/Market Manager Trip Reeb stated, “We have such a great team that starts with Scott Mahalick, Mike Henry and his team at Paragon, and our great local staff. And a special company that was ready to believe in the vision and doing something unique for Seattle.”
