Charlotte
Beasley AC “K104.7” WKQC rebounds to an 11.0 share after a 10.2 in 2021. WKQC had a 15.6 share in 2020 when iHeartMedia Variety Hits “102.9 The Lake” WLKO failed to go all-Christmas, but returned in 2021 with an 8.2 share and inched up to an 8.3 this year.
Beasley Country 103.7 WSOC rises 6.0 to 6.7.
Portland
iHeartMedia AC “K103” KKCW’s 16.7 share was slightly off from its 17.0 in 2021. Audacy Variety Hits “97.1 Charlie” KYCH was also down year-to-year 6.4 to 6.2. Salem Christian AC “104.1 The Fish” KFIS-FM rebounded from its 1.4 in 2021 to a 2.7 this year, while adding an additional 0.4 from its stream.
Jazz 89.1 KMHD trends up 1.9 – 2.3 – 2.6, while its stream adds an additional 0.9 share. Audacy Alternative “94.7 FM” KNRK rises 1.7 to 2.0.
How low can Country go in Portland? Audacy’s “99.5 The Wolf” KWJJ trends down 2.7 – 1.9 – 1.5, while Alpha Media’s “98.7 The Bull” KUPL falls 2.3 – 1.5 – 1.1.
San Antonio
iHeartMedia AC “Q101.9” KQXT dips from its record high 15.9 share last year to 15.2.
Cox Media Group Classic Hits 101.1 KONO-FM rises 7.5 to 8.1. Alpha Media Regional Mexican “Norteño 104.1/720” KSAH/KSAH-FM trends up 1.3 – 1.5 – 1.9.
Salt Lake City
Bonneville AC “FM 100” KSFI reverses its five year downward trend since setting the PPM all-time high of a 23.2 share in 2017. KSFI rose from a 16.3 to 20.0. In any other market, the year-to-year gains made by iHeartMedia Hot AC “My 99.5” KJMY would be the most notable as it has moved from a 3.1 in 2020 to 6.8 in 2021 to a 9.4 in 2022.
Classical 89.1 KBYU-FM rises 2.5 to 3.3. iHeartMedia CHR 97.1 KZHT is on the upswing 2.8 – 3.0 – 3.3.
Sacramento
Bonneville AC “Mix 96” KYMX falls from its 2021 15.8 share to a 13.9.
Audacy’s “98 Rock” KRXQ rises 3.5 to 4.3. Entravision Spanish Rhythmic “Fuego 101.9” KHHM jumps 1.2 to 1.8. Lotus Communications’ “La Ranchera” 890 KVMX/104.7 K284CM and 92.1 KVMX-FM is up 1.0 to 1.7.
Orlando
iHeartMedia AC “Magic 107.7” WMGF rose from a 12.8 in 2021 to a 13.1 share, but down from its massive 17.0 in 2020.
Cox Media Group Country “K92.3” WWKA trends up 5.2 – 5.3 – 6.0, while sister News/Talk 580/107.3 WDBO rises 4.1 – 4.3 – 4.6.
iHeartMedia Spanish CHR “Rumba 100.3” WRUM is up 5.1 to 5.5, while SBS’ “95.3 El Zol” WPYO climbs 2.8 to 3.7.
iHeartMedia Hip Hop “104.5 The Beat” WTKS-HD2 is up 1.4 to 2.1, while JVC Media Rhythmic CHR “Fly 103.1” WFYY rises 0.8 to 1.1.
Pittsburgh
iHeartMedia Classic Hits “94.5 3WS” WWSW declines from a 15.5 in 2021 to a 13.3. Renda AC “Wish 99.7” WSHH is up 9.3 to 9.5.
Steel City Media’s “Q92.9” WLTJ is a rare Hot AC to rise during the holidays as it trends up 4.9 – 5.0 – 5.3.
Audacy Hip Hop/R&B “WAMO 107.3” WBZZ-HD2 rises 1.7 to 1.9 to set a new record high for the brand since it was resurrected in 2011.
Las Vegas
iHeartMedia AC “Sunny 106.5” KSNE slips from a 14.7 in 2021 to 14.1. SOS Radio Christian AC 90.5 KSOS is on a three year Holiday down trend 5.4 – 3.9 – 2.3.
Audacy CHR 98.5 KLUC jumps up 2.8 to 4.3. New sister Conservative Talk 720/101.5 KDWN yo-yos 2.8 – 1.0 – 2.3.
Lotus Regional Mexican “La Buena 101.9” KWID trends up 5.9 – 6.1 – 6.6. Entravision Spanish Rhythmic “Fuego 92.7” KRRN is on fire up 0.5 to 1.7.
Cincinnati
iHeartMedia News/Talk 700 WLW holds onto the Cincinnati market lead with a 10.0 to 10.7 month-to-month gain.
Cumulus Media AC “Warm 98.5” WRRM has seen its Holiday share erode each of the past five years down nearly a full share point annually from its 14.5 in 2018, 13.1 in 2019, 12.3 in 2020 and 10.4 in 2021 to just a 9.4 share this year. Pillar of Fire Christian AC “Star 93.3” WAKW also goes all-Christmas, but does not subscribe to Nielsen.
Radio One Adult R&B “100.3 R&B” WOSL rises 3.0 – 3.2 – 3.5. iHeartMedia Sports “ESPN 1530” WCKY is up 1.7 to 2.6 thanks to the Bengals late season run. Cumulus’ “Cat Country 94.1” WNNF gains 1.5 – 1.9 – 2.3.
Kansas City
Steel City Media AC “KC 102.1” KCKC rises from a 6.3 share in 2021 to an 8.6, which Huff notes also gives them their first #1 showing in the market since Holiday 2010. Cumulus Classic Hits 94.9 KCMO-FM places second but continues its downward trend from 12.8 – 10.4 – 8.5 – 7.9 over the past four years.
Public News/Talk 89.3 KCUR rises 4.0 to 4.4. Audacy’s “Alt 96.5” KRBZ trends up 2.0 – 2.2 – 2.8.
Cleveland
iHeartMedia Classic Hits “Majic 105.7” WMJI continues its run of leading the market in even numbered year with a rise from 11.5 in 2021 to a 14.1 share. Audacy AC “Star 102.1” WDOK drops from a 12.4 to a 9.5. Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes that the two stations have alternated on top of the Holiday monthly every year since 2015. Salem Christian AC “95.5 The Fish” WFHM also goes all-Christmas but does not subscribe.
iHeartMedia Variety Hits “106.5 The Lake” WHLK rises 6.8 – 7.0 – 7.3. Radio One Hip Hop “Z107.9” WENZ jumps 2.8 to 3.6.
Columbus
The Columbus Christmas audience continues to compress as iHeartMedia Variety Hits “93.3 The Bus” WODC drops 10.1 to 7.2 while Saga AC “Sunny 94.7” WSNY rises 5.9 to 6.3. As recently as 2019 both stations were over a nine share with WSNY’s 9.7 leading WODC’s 9.4.
iHeartMedia Country 92.3 WCOL remains in the Columbus lead down 10.1 to 9.2, while TEGNA Sports “97.1 The Fan” WBNS-FM was second 9.2 to 8.0.
NABCO Rock “99.7 The Blitz” WRKZ continues to trend up 4.4 – 5.4 – 6.3. iHeartMedia Hip Hop “106.7 The Beat” WZCB rises 1.9 to 2.8.
