Gregg Henson Joins WLAV As Morning Host

96.9 WLAV 97 LAV-FM Grand Rapids Gregg Henson Michelle McCormickCumulus Media Classic Rock “97 LAV” WLAV Grand Rapids MI has announced the addition of Gregg Henson to its morning show alongside Michelle McKormick and Travis Gibbs for what its being branded as “Michelle and Gregg With Travis”.

Henson fills the opening created by Tony Gates’ exit in April. The move reunites Henson and McCormick, who previously co-hosted together at “97.1 FM Talk” WKRK Detroit from 2002 to 2006.

Henson joins WLAV from Richmond VA where he was serving as Program Director for Audacy News/Talk 1140/96.1 WRVA and Sports “910/105.1 The Fan” WRNL. He has previously been heard in Grand Rapids on a dual market afternoon show he hosted for 1130 WDFN Detroit and 96.1 WMAX Grand Rapids. He has also hosted and programmed Sports 1130 WDFN and 1270 WXYT Detroit, 950 WPEN Philadelphia, 970 WBGG Pittsburgh 1300 KVET Austin and 105.3 KRLD-FM Dallas and News/Talk 1190 WOWO Fort Wayne during his career.

CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has appointed well-known former Detroit radio personality Gregg Henson as On-Air Co-Host, Mornings, on heritage Classic Rock station 97 WLAV-FM (96.9) in Grand Rapids, MI. Henson joins renowned West Michigan personality Michelle McKormick and audience favorite, Travis Gibbs, on WLAV weekdays from 5:30am-10:00am on the newly-named Michelle and Gregg With Travis show.

Hailing from Troy, MI, Henson started his career at Classic Rock WCSX-FM in Detroit, and six years later, he headed to Detroit’s Sports Talk WDFN-AM as Director of Programming and Morning Show Host. In the early 2000’s, Henson moved to Detroit’s Talk WKRK-FM and created a ground-breaking hybrid FM ‘Hot Talk’ show, Motor City Middays, with Michelle McKormick. His radio career then took him to stations in Austin, TX, Philadelphia, PA, Dallas, TX, and Pittsburgh, PA, in roles including On-Air Personality, Operations Manager, and Program Director. Henson returns to Michigan from Richmond, VA, after a successful run at heritage News/Talk station, WRVA.
