Carl Wilson is selling Grants Pass Broadcasting to its General Manager.
Brian Diatte, who has worked at the stations since 2001, along with his wife Shanna Diatte, will purchase the company and its three stations for $3,030,000. During his tenure, Diatte has risen from account executive to Sales Manager, Promotions Director, and lastly to GM.
The deal includes Full Service AC 1270 KAJO Grants Pass/99.7 K259AE Williams, Country 94.7 KRRM Rogue River, and Hot AC 98.3 KLDR Harbeck-Fruitdale and translators 98.1 K251AX Medford and 104.5 K283AE Cave Junction.
The Wilson family has owned at least a part of the company since the sign-on of KAJO in 1957 when it was built by Jim Wilson and Jim Jackson. Carl became Station Manager in the ’80s and launched KLDR in 1993 and acquired KRRM in 2020 for $150,000. Wilson gained 100% equity in the company in 2021 when Sarah Jane Williams transferred her 21% stake for no consideration. Wilson has also had two stints in the Oregon State House of Representatives from 1998 to 2003 and again from 2015-21.
