GB News is launching its own radio advertising and sponsorship sales house after ending its contract with Bauer Media.
Commercial Director Nicole O’Shea tells RadioToday that the channel’s independence from a sales partner meant GB News can now offer targeted solutions for clients across TV, radio, and digital.
She said: “The dramatic growth of our radio audience, alongside the team we’ve built in-house, means we now have the scale and the expertise to deliver more tailored multi-platform campaigns for advertisers.
“Our clients love the results we’re creating for them, so taking control of our radio sales makes perfect sense.”
GB News Radio’s audience grew by 40% in 2023, to an average 430,000 listeners a week. According to RAJAR ratings released earlier this month, the station’s total weekly listening hours also grew 31% in 12 months.
Head of Radio Sales Lee Roberts, who previously launched Virgin Radio, said: “GB News is proving it has a phenomenal ability to reach audiences, especially outside the London bubble.
“Our radio audience is affluent and engaged – 60% ABC1, and 80% over 45. In more than 30 years in radio, I’ve never seen a station rise as fast and as powerfully as GB News – it’s an extraordinary achievement, and a compelling commercial opportunity.”
