Future Star competition returns to Bauer’s Hits Radio Pride

Hits Radio Pride is bringing back its Future Star competition to find the next voice in radio.

Once again, the competition will help get a budding presenter’s foot in the door of the radio industry, giving them the chance to present their own show on Bauer’s dedicated LGBTQ+ station this December.

The winner will follow in the footsteps of Ben Johns, the inaugural Future Star, who nine months on is still on the air and presents on the station every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Ben said: “Since winning Hits Radio Pride’s Future Star last year I’ve landed my own national radio show and even got to join Jordan Lee and the Hits Radio Pride team at Brighton Pride this summer. It’s been a dream come true and Future Star really helped kickstart my career. I would highly encourage anyone looking to get into radio to apply!”

Simon Greening, Senior Executive Producer, Hits Radio, added: “We’re so excited to launch Future Star again – I’ve in fact already had people messaging me asking if the campaign was coming back! Huge thanks to EE who are helping us to make this all possible; we can’t wait to see everyone’s submissions soon and find the next person to join us on Hits Radio Pride.”

Applications for Hits Radio Pride Future Star are now open and close on Wednesday 19th October. Applicants are invited to send in a short video via hitsradiopride.co.uk.
