iHeartMedia has launched Conservative Talk “Freedom 104.7” W284CQ/98.7 WMZQ-HD2 Washington DC.
The flip at W284CQ is the second on the signal this year after moving from Talk “Wonk-FM” to a simulcast of Sports “1190 iHeart Sports DC” WTSD when that station launched in January. That brand will continue to be heard on WTSD and 101.1 WWDC-HD2.
The new brand exists to give Washington DC clearances to Premiere Networks’ suite of Conservative Talk programming including Glenn Beck from 9am-12pm, Clay Travis & Buck Sexton from 12-3pm, Sean Hannity from 3-6pm, The Jesse Kelly Show from 6-9pm, Our American Stories from 9pm-12am, and Coast to Coast AM overnights. Of those shows, only Hannity had been heard in the Washington market where it was delayed to late nights on Salem’s “570 The Answer” WWRC Bethesda MD. The station is also carrying “America’s 1st News” with Matt Ray in mornings.
The 99w/150m translator mostly covers the areas of Washington DC and Northern Virginia inside the beltway.
