Roberts Metro Broadcasting will officially launch R&B Oldies “Foxy 106.9” K295CQ St. Louis/KXBS-HD3 Bethalto IL on December 1.
The station, which soft-launched earlier this month, will feature a number of familiar names in the St. Louis market led by VP/General Manager Lou Thimes Jr. Thimes previously held on-air roles in the market at 630 KXOK/97.1 KXOK-FM, 104.9 KMJM, 1120 KMOX and management roles in Peoria and St. Louis. Don ‘DJ Wrekk 1’ Williams will serve as Program Director. Williams most recently spent seven years programming Hubbard’s “X102.3” WMBX West Palm Beach FL. He began his career in his native St. Louis as a mixer at “Magic 108” KMJM and later had stints at “100.3 The Beat” KATZ and “Q95.5” WFUN-FM before spending thirteen years in Indianapolis at 96.3 WHHH.
On-air hosts will include longtime KMJM midday host Tammie Holland and former “95.5 R&B” WFUN-FM afternoon co-host Sinita Wells.
Roberts Metro Broadcasting acquired K295CQ earlier this year from Fusion Radio LLC for $460,000. The Roberts family owns Hip Hop “97.7 The Beat” WRBJ-FM Jackson MS and previously owned WRBU-TV St. Louis and four other television stations.
