John Low’s 1TV.com and Rocket Radio Corporation are selling Classic Rock “The Rattler” 1260 KBSZ Apache Junction/97.3 K247CF Payson AZ to William Tucker’s WOOK Radio DC Inc. for $850,000.
Tucker previously was head of the group who had their Construction Permit for 103.1 WOOK-LP Washington DC revoked in 2016 for multiple FCC violations including gaming the FCC’s points system by entering into a Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement with Sincere Seven in order to qualify for a point on the FCC’s LPFM scoring system as S7 was a licensed 501(c)(3) with the IRS and locally based in Washington. He has continued to operate “WOOK” online and as a Part-15 AM in Washington.
K247CF holds a Construction Permit to relocate to Phoenix’s South Mountain antenna farm where it will operate with 250w/491m directionally covering the southeastern part of the market.
George Kimble of Kozacko Media Services served as broker of the deal. The sale announcement states that Tucker will be relocating to Phoenix to operate the station. It also notes that the “basic format will remain the same with a number of improvements and modifications,” according to Tucker.
