Alex Dyke is heading back to commercial radio and joining the team at Wave 105 following his exit from BBC Radio Solent.
He’ll be hosting a special three hour rock show on Boxing Day called Yacht Rock.
Alex recently left BBC Radio Solent as a result of the BBC’s Digital First plan which made dozens of experienced and much-loved radio presenters redundant in favour of adding more local news articles on the BBC website.
Sharing the news on social media, Alex said: “I’m really looking forward to being back on the radio with you on Boxing Day evening 6pm-9pm for 3 hours of fabulous Yacht Rock.
“This is going to be my first show on the South’s biggest & most popular radio station so I hope you can join me especially if you’ve had enough of Christmas TV by then.”
Before joining the BBC in 2010, Alex worked at commercial radio in the area including Isle of Wight Radio.
