Fix Radio is joining the Sound Digital Ltd DAB multiplex expanding its coverage across the country.
Station founder and CEO Louis Timpany has posted a video online with the news, saying it will target the 2.2m builders in the UK.
Fix Radio is also asking listeners to help raise funds with a crowdfund campaign, saying “we want our dedicated listeners to become investors and part owners of a brand they’re already emotionally invested in — and you’ll be able do this for any price that suits”.
The station launched in London on DAB five years ago and has been added to other local multiplexes in recent years, and has recently built a new studio set for visual content.
Louis told Radio Today: “After five years of hard graft we have finally been awarded our national broadcast licence, and as we plan our expansion, we wanted to bring our loyal listener base and along for the ride.
“By offering our audience equity in Fix Radio, not only will they become an official part of the family, but they will be directly involved in the effort to expand the station nationwide – which allows us to broadcast to a potential 2.2 million builders.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this next chapter. We’ll shortly be able to offer advertisers a direct route to their target market, nationwide and with zero wastage.”
