Educational Media Foundation is acquiring two Upstate New York signals that operate as rimshots across the border to serve the Montréal market.
EMF will pay $2.5 million to acquire CHR “94.7 Hits-FM” WYUL Chateaugay and Country “Wild Country 96.5” WVNV Malone NY from Martz Communications Group. While licensed to the US, the stations have sales offices in both Montréal and Cornwall ON through Radio Marketing Solutions.
Both stations cover the southern portions of the Montréal market and have historically shown up in the ratings, although neither currently subscribes to the Numeris ratings.
