Educational Media Foundation Acquires Radio Nueva Vida

Radio Nueva Vida Educational Media FoundationEducational Media Foundation will add a third Christian network to its holdings as it has agreed to acquire the Association for Community Education, the parent of the Spanish Christian “Radio Nueva Vida” network along with its portfolio of stations and translators.

The deal is structured with EMF becoming the sole member of Association for Community Education for no financial consideration pending FCC approval.

Based at 90.3 KMRO Camarillo CA, Radio Nueva Vida airs on many EMF owned facilities including translators in Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Portland. All Radio Nueva Vida employees will remain with the organization as Association for Community Education will become a subsidiary of EMF. EMF says that better service for the Hispanic audience has been a key goal. It launched “Música de Adoración!” as a sub-brand of “Air 1” earlier this year as a digital sub-brand that it says has already garnered 300,000 hours of listening.

EMF Interim CEO Tom Stultz said, “For more than 42 years, EMF has been a pioneer in using media to share the Gospel. This alignment with Phil and Mary Guthrie and the RNV Team will enable us to innovate and reach new audiences, ensuring our mission continues to thrive in a whole new way.”

Radio Nueva Vida President Phil Guthrie commented, “Since 2010, Educational Media Foundation has partnered with Radio Nueva Vida to serve the rapidly growing Spanish-speaking population. I am thrilled we are solidifying our Kingdom partnership; there is so much work to do, and I know with God’s help, together we’ll be better!”

The deal will include KMRO, 90.9 KGZO Shafter, 91.3 KDRH King City, 980 KEYQ Fresno, and 17 translators all in California. Radio Nueva Vida programming is currently heard on signals in fourteen states, plus Washington DC and Mexico
