Drew Anderssen Rises To Audacy News/Talk Vice President

Audacy has announced the promotion of Drew Anderssen to Format Vice President for the company’s News/Talk stations.

Anderssen will continue to serve as Brand Manager of 1080 KRLD Dallas which he has led since April 2022. He previously spent 24 years at Cox Media Group where he was Brand Manager of News/Talk 750 WSB/95.5 WSBB Atlanta and corporate News/Talk/Sports format leader with previous stints as Operations Manager for KRMG Tulsa and Program Director of WDBO Orlando. Prior to joining Cox, he worked in music radio hosting nights at KHTT Tulsa, programming KIOC Beaumont TX, and Promotions Director/night host at KNIN Wichita Falls.

Audacy has elevated Drew Anderssen to Format Vice President to lead brand and format strategy and execution for the company’s News/Talk portfolio. He will continue to serve as Brand Manager of Newsradio 1080 KRLD (KRLD-AM) in Dallas.

Anderssen is a veteran news, talk, and sports radio programmer with a track record of performance successes. He joined the Audacy Dallas team in May 2022 as NewsRadio 1080 KRLD and Texas State Networks Brand Manager. Before joining Audacy, Anderssen spent 24 years working with Cox Media Group in multiple formats and locations, most recently serving as the national News/Talk and Sports Format Leader and Brand Manager of 95.5 WSB in Atlanta. He also previously served as Operations Manager in Orlando for multiple stations and as Brand Manager for News 96.5 WDBO and ESPN 580. He also served as Operations Manager of News 102.3 KRMG in Tulsa.

Anderssen has led teams to countless coveted National Association of Broadcasters Awards, including Marconis, Service to America and Crystals, and the National Edward R. Murrow Award from the RTDNA. He’s helped multiple local radio hosts achieve Hall of Fame success and become Gracie Award winners. Under his leadership, his stations have won countless awards from state broadcasters associations, the Associated Press, and the RTDNA.
