The sale of most of Redwood Empire Stereocasters’ Santa Rosa CA cluster to Amaturo Sonoma Media will lead to a pair of format changes on Monday, August 1.
Country “93.7 The Bull” KBBL Sebastopal will see its branding move to 99.1 K256DA Santa Rosa, but with a flip to Classic Country to take it out of competition with Amaturo’s “Froggy 92.9” KFGY. The new iteration of The Bull will feature core artists George Strait, Garth Brooks, Reba McIntyre, Alabama, Alan Jackson, and Dolly Parton. The move will mark the third frequency for the “Bull” brand since its launch in 2015 after moving from 106.3 to 93.7 in January 2020.
Redwood Empire will move the Jazz/Standards “Jazzy 99.1” brand back to 93.7 as that station is not part of the acquisition. 93.7 previously was Smooth Jazz and then Soft AC “Smooth 93.7” from 1995 to 2019.
The KJZY calls will move back to 93.7 from 106.3 in Cazadero with KBBL moving in reverse. The 106.3 is currently leased to Educational Media Foundation to air its “Air 1” network.
