In 2021, both Cumulus Media Oldies “Z104” 103.9 WWIZ Middlesex PA/Youngstown OH and Great Eastern Radio’s then-stunting 97.9 WXMS Au Sable NY/Burlington VT both went all-Christmas on October 1. In 2020, the season started even earlier with WWIZ making the move on September 25. No station has made the move yet this year.
That may be about to change as iHeartMedia has registered a domain pointing towards the first station using Christmas music to potentially stunt to a new brand after the holidays.
