Dollar Bill Lawson To Retire From Mornings At WDXB Birmingham

Dollar Bill Lawson 102.5 The Bull WDXB BirminghamAfter a 50 year radio career, ‘Dollar Bill’ Lawson will retire from mornings at iHeartMedia Country “102.5 The Bull” WDXB Pelham/Birmingham AL.

Set to be inducted in to the Country Radio Hall of Fame this summer, Lawson has been a staple in the Birmingham market since 1979. After stints in Muscle Shoals, Selma, and Tuscaloosa, Lawson joined 960 WERC and served as night host. He would then host nights on “Kicks 106” WKXX before moving back to WERC after it flipped to Talk in 1982. In 1985, he joined Country 104.7 WZZK first as midday host and Promotions Director and then moved to mornings alongside Patti Wheeler in 1993. The duo jumped to WDXB following its move-in to the Birmingham market in 2002 with current co-host Madison Reeves joining Lawson following Wheeler’s retirement in 2008.
