Dimes Media, which owns eight stations in King City and San Luis Obispo CA, has announced the passing of company Chairman Martha Buckley Fahnoe.
Fahnoe, the daughter of Buckley Broadcasting founder Richard Dimes Buckley Sr., began her broadcasting career working in the mailroom of WNEW New York (when it was briefly owned by her father in the 1950s) as a teenager. She and her son Eric Fahnoe founded Dimes Media in 2014 following Buckley Broadcasting selling off its properties that included multiple markets in California, Connecticut and New York.
Dimes Media Corporation is sad to announce the passing of their Chairman Martha (Buckley) Fahnoe. Martha passed unexpectedly on Friday, July 21st. Martha was the daughter of Richard Dimes Buckley Sr., founder of Buckley Broadcasting, and predeceased by her brother Rick Buckley. Martha founded Dimes Media Corporation with her son Eric Dimes Fahnoe upon the closing of Buckley Broadcasting.
Dimes Media currently operates radio stations in San Luis Obispo and King City California. Martha grew up in broadcasting beginning in the mailroom of WNEW as a teenager and her success in many capacities was ensured by her engaging personality and interest in her coworkers, clients and the community. Martha is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Norman, and is survived by her son Eric, his wife Michelle and her daughter Patricia, her husband Ian and grandchildren Coulter and Cyrus.
Arrangements are pending. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations in her memory be made to The Broadcaster’s Foundation of American or The Living Desert in Palm Desert CA.
