Details of Emily Maitlis & Jon Sopel’s new Global podcast revealed

The new podcast hosted by Emily Maitlis & Jon Sopel for Global will be called The News Agents and be available weekdays at 5pm.

Emily and Jon will record and host Monday to Thursday, with Lewis Goodall hosting every Friday.

Launching on Tuesday 30th August via Global Player, the podcast will feature interviews with the decision makers behind the headlines, providing exclusive insights into both breaking news and long-running stories.

Alongside its audio content, The News Agents will have a daily news hub, hosting video journalism and explainers on its social media channels on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

The hosts join Global from the BBC, where Maitlis hosted Newsnight, Goodall was Newsnight’s Policy Editor and Sopel was the corporation’s North America Editor.
