Dave Luczak To Retire From WKLH At End Of 2024

Dave Luczak has told listeners he will retire from mornings at Saga Communications Classic Rock “Hometown Rock 96.5” WKLH Milwaukee at the end of 2024.

Luczak has hosted mornings on the station since joining then AC “Magic 96.5” WMGF in 1984. He started his career in Dayton OH with stints at WVUD and WTUE and spent a year in Rochester NY alongside Don Girard before both came to Milwaukee. The station would flip to Classic Hits under the WKLH call letters in January 1986 and evolve to Classic Rock in the 2000s. Carole Caine would join the show as newscaster in 1985, rise to co-host following Girard’s departure the following year, and remain alongside Luczak until 2015. Luczak is currently teamed in mornings with Dorene Michaels and Marcus Allen.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Luczak told listeners on Thursday, “Much like Pat Sajak, who is retiring after 40 years as host of ‘Wheel of Fortune,’ I’m also going to call it a day at the end of next year.”
