Dan Dakich Departs Indy’s Fan

emmiDan Dakich has departed his 12-3pm show on Radio One Sports “93.5/107.5 The Fan” W228CX/W298BB/WIBC-HD2 Indianapolis.

Dakich, a former basketball player and assistant coach for the University of Indiana, had worked at the station since 2009. He also spent ten years as head coach for Bowling Green University from 1997 to 2007 and later worked as an analyst for ESPN and Big Ten Network. He has also been hosting “Don’t @ Me” on Outkick.com since last year, which will continue.

No reasons were given for Dakich’s dismissal following his show today. In a brief email, Radio One Indianapolis Operations Manager David Wood told staffers, “Today was Dan Dakich’s last day with Radio One. We wish him well in their future endeavors. In his absence, please forward any business matters to me.” The Indianapolis Star reported over the summer on multiple controversies he had been involved with from a suspension by former owner Emmis in 2018 to a Twitter feud in 2021 with a college professor who accused him of misogynistic comments and doxing her that led to his exit from ESPN. The story also notes that at a station event in June, Dakich made multiple offensive comments that “mortifed his new bosses” at Radio One.
