Cumulus Promotes Marv Nyren To Regional Vice President For Chicago & Minneapolis

Marv Nyren Cumulus Media Chicago MinneapolisCumulus Media Chicago VP/Market Manager Marv Nyren has been promoted to Regional Vice President adding oversight of the company’s Minneapolis cluster succeeding Shelly Malecha Wilkes.

Nyren had led Cumulus Chicago since November 2017. He previously ran Emmis Chicago from 2004 until their 2011 sale to Merlin Media and was VP/Corporate Sponsorship for Chicago Public Media. He also managed iHeartMedia Jacksonville FL, Regional VP for Emmis overseeing Chicago, Indianapolis, and Phoenix, and AMFM Broadcasting Phoenix and worked at Tribune Broadcasting as Director of group sales and marketing.

Cumulus owns Classic Rock 92.5 KQRS-FM, Rock “93X” KXXR, and Soft AC trimulcast “Love 105” WGVX/WLUP/WWWM-FM in Minneapolis. Shelly Malecha Wilkes had led the cluster since 2013 after nine years in multiple sales roles including GSM and Director of Sales as part of a radio sales career dating back to 1987.
