Cromwell Media Nashville continues its series of promotions with the promotion of Crate ‘Atticus’ Morat to Director of Music Programming adding branding and imaging duties for “93.3 Classic Hits” and Adult R&B “102.1 The Ville”
Morat has served as PD of Rock “102.9 The Buzz” WBUZ since May 2020. He previously worked at that station from 2010-2014 as APD/Imaging Director and afternoon host. Morat has also worked at “93X” WMFS-FM Memphis and “Q95” WFBQ and “Alt 103.3” WOLT Indianapolis.
Effective July 1, 2023, Cromwell Media/Nashville’s Crate Morat, aka “Atticus,” Program Director and Brand Manager for “Nashville’s Rock Station” 102.9 The Buzz (WBUZ-FM), moves into a newly created role as Director of Music Programming, adding branding and imaging responsibilities for 93.3 Classic Hits and Urban AC 102.1 The Ville. The transition is currently underway.
Morat said, “In addition to our heritage rock station, 102.9 The Buzz, we have two other distinct Nashville music brands that I’m excited to begin working with! Thanks to Cromwell Media owner Bud Walters, outgoing VP/Market Manager Dennis Gwiazdon, and newly appointed GM Shawn Fort, for creating the opportunity for me to lead all these music stations toward a successful future in Music City.”
Since May 2020 Morat has guided 102.9 The Buzz to a consistent market leading position. This is Morat’s second stint with Cromwell Media. He began his career in 2001 at WMFS=FM/Memphis before arriving in Nashville in 2010 where he served as WBUZ-FM Assistant PD/Imaging Director and PM drive host for four years. Morat spent the following six years in Indianapolis as Assistant PD for WFBQ-FM and PM drive host at WOLT-FM before rejoining Cromwell Media/Nashville.
“Crate was with us years ago and did a great job,” said Bud Walters, Cromwell Media President.
“We were glad to get his call from Indianapolis when 102.9 The Buzz was looking for a PD and he re-joined us. Now it’s great to be able to promote from within as we plan growth for Nashville’s 93.3 Classic Hits and 102.1 The Ville.”
GM Shawn Fort added, “Crate and I met in Memphis when we were both part-timers getting our start in this business. Everything has come full circle as we’re teammates again here in Nashville. He’s one of the best when it comes to creative ideas for programming and sales. Based on what he’s done with 102.9 The Buzz, I can’t wait to see what he does when he gets his hands on Classic Hits and The Ville!”
