Cox Media Group has announced the promotion of Rob Roberts to Operations Manager for their San Antonio cluster and the appointment of Joe Calgaro as Program Director of Rock 99.5 KISS-FM and Classic Rock “106.7 The Eagle” KTKX.
Roberts has programmed Classic Hits 101.1 KONO-FM and Hot AC “Magic 105.3” KSMG San Antonio TX since August 2019. Roberts previously has programmed Hot AC “Mix 107.3” WRQX Washington DC, “Mix 102.9” KDMX Dallas, and Classic Hits “Kool 105” KXKL Denver. He also served as Regional Vice President of Programming for Clear Channel and OM/PD of CHR “Y100” WHYI Miami and was OM of Cumulus Atlanta and PD of “Q100” WWWQ.
Calgaro most recently served as Operations Manager for Audacy Sacramento and PD of “98 Rock” KRXQ and Classic Rock “Eagle 96.9” KSEG until exiting in the company’s August cuts. He had transferred to Sacramento from Boston in October 2020 where he served as OM and PD of Rock 107.3 WAAF until its sale to Educational Media Foundation. Prior to joining Entercom he programmed “102.9 The Hog” WHQG Milwaukee from 2012-2018 as well as stints running 105.7 WAPL Appleton WI, “Razor 94.7” WZOR Green Bay, and “Rock 106” WWCT Peoria IL. Calgaro was also the PA announcer for the Green Bay Packers from 1999 to 2018.
The duties were previously held by Keith Hastings until his move to become Brand & Content Director at Hubbard Classic Rock “97.1 The Drive” WDRV Chicago at the end of March.
Cox Media Group (“CMG”) San Antonio, today announced that Rob Roberts has been promoted to Director of Operations for the seven radio stations in the cluster (KONO FM, KONO AM, KCYY, KISS, KTKX, KSMG, and KKYX). Joe Calgaro will become the new Director of Programming for 99.5 KISS and 106.7 The Eagle KTKX.
Roberts career led KONO 101.1 and Magic 105.3 KSMG as the Director of Programming for the last three years. Previously, Rob led programming for Y-100 (Miami), Q100 (Atlanta), and Mix 107.3 (Washington D.C.).

Calgaro brings over 20 years of successful rock programming experience to the San Antonio team.
