Coventry small scale DAB applicant offers free carriage

Free carriage will be available to community radio stations in Coventry if the Coventry DAB consortium wins the small-scale DAB licence.

The free offer will last two years for the first six C-DSP licensed stations who sign up before the submission deadline of Round 3 – April 25th 2022.

Coventry DAB is made up of local community station Padio Panj, Niocast and Chris Hurst.

Radio Panj been around since 2006” says Station Manager Jaswinder Singh Dulay “and we’ve been planning the move from medium wave for some time. We’re looking forward to the quality that DAB will deliver and being able to reach lots more listeners.”

Talking about the plan, Chris Hurst said: “We are committed to providing local community radio stations, regardless of their financial position, with the opportunity to explore DAB free of charge for the first two years.”
