Educational Media Foundation has closed on its $3.1 million purchase of “Country Legends 97.1” KTHT Cleveland/Houston TX from Radio One’s Sugarland Station Trust and launched its Christian AC “K-Love” network on the station.
Now operating under new KLVH call letters, the launch means EMF’s flagship network is now heard in nine of the top ten markets in the country with only Dallas remaining. “K-Love” will give Hope Media Group’s 89.3 KSBJ a direct competitor for the Christian AC audience and donations.
The final song heard on 97.1 before the 6pm flip was John Berry’s “Standing on the Edge of Goodbye” before part of Marty Robbins song segueing into the network feed. The Classic Country programming will still be heard on Radio One’s 92.9 KKBQ-HD2 and online.
