Corus Entertainment is making morning show changes across its properties in Toronto and Hamilton ON.
Scott Tucker and Maura Grierson will move from Hot AC “Energy 95.3” CING-FM Hamilton to Alternative “102.1 The Edge” CFNY-FM Toronto. The duo previously hosted mornings in Toronto at CHR “99.9 Virgin Radio” CKFM from 2014 to 2018. Tucker has also worked in Regina, Montreal and London, while Grierson spent fifteen years at CKFM preceded by two stations in Montreal.
Tucker & Maura will succeed “The B Team” of Shawna Whelan and Chris Ziemniak. The duo joined CFNY in February 2020 from co-owned Rock “Y108” CJXY-FM Burlington/Hamilton and were previously paired with Jay Brody from 2018 until last June at both stations.
Whelan will be moving over to sister Rock “Q107” CILQ-FM to host mornings with John Garbutt and Ryan Parker. CILQ-FM has been running jockless in mornings since the May suspension and subsequent firing of previous host John Derringer after multiple former co-workers alleged gender discrimination against him. Garbutt and Parker were previous members of Derringer’s show.
Back at CING-FM, the station is now airing the “Scott & Kat” show based on co-owned “91.5 The Beat” CKBT-FM Kitchener hosted by Scott Fox and Kat Callaghan. Callaghan is also known as the female text-to-speech voice on TikTok.
