Connecticut Public Radio is filling a coverage hole in northern Fairfield County with the $500,000 purchase of 103.7 W279CI Danbury from Irv Goldstein’s Berkshire Broadcasting.
The translator will be utilized to bring the statewide Public News/Talk network originating at 90.5 WNPR-FM Meriden/Hartford to the Danbury area. The deal will include a $1,000 per month lease of Berkshire’s 98.3 WDAQ-HD4 Danbury to feed the translator, which currently operates as Alternative “103.7 Danbury’s New Rock Alternative” via WDAQ-HD2. W279CI operates with 250w/135m covering most of northern Fairfield County.
Greg Guy’s Tideline Partners served as broker for the buyer.
