Community Radio Fund 2022-23 now open for applications

The first round of the Community Radio Fund 2022-23 is now open for applications from eligible stations and will close at 5pm on Friday 10 June 2022.

The total amount available over the course of 2022-23 is £393,816, due to a small overallocation of funding in 2021-22 which needed to be reflected in the funds available this year.

The Community Radio Fund supports the core costs of running Ofcom-licensed community radio stations, as set out in the guidance notes.

Ofcom says applicants should read the guidance notes in full before submitting an application and should note in particular that the Fund does not fund applications for cash funding.

Licensees who hold a Community Digital Sound Programme (C-DSP) licence are eligible to apply for the Fund if the station is broadcasting on a digital radio multiplex at the date of their application.

Grants can only be made to Ofcom-licensed community radio stations in the UK, broadcasting on AM, FM, or via a C-DSP licence on a digital radio multiplex.

Ofcom expects the Community Radio Fund Panel will meet in July 2022 to consider the applications received.
