Colby Ericson has exited as Program Director/afternoon host of Murfin Media’s “My Country 100.5” KVWF Augusta/Wichita KS and sister company My Town Media’s six “My Country” branded stations across the state.
Ericson has been a staple in the Wichita market since 2000 with stints at 103.7 KEYN, 101.3 KFDI, and 104.5 KFXJ before joining Country “100.5 The Wolf” KVWF from 2008-17. He then programmed Red Dirt Country “KS Country 92.3” KKGQ and Variety Hits “97.1 Bob-FM” KIBB until January 2019. He then joined My Town Media as PD/afternoon host in May 2019. He returned to Wichita with the relaunch of KVWF last June following years of ownership and operational issues.
Ericson also hosted the weekly Red Dirt Country “35 South” that aired on Friday afternoons on those stations. The show originated in 2012.
In a brief social media statement Ericson stated, “I am no longer with the My Country stations. I am currently taking a look at what the future holds and what the next steps will be. 35 South will not air this Friday and that’s all I can say about that at this time. Onward and upward.”
