John Elliott’s Suncoast Radio closed on its $150,000 purchase of 107.9 WNDN Chiefland FL from Saga Communications and has relaunched the station as “Classic Rock 107.9” WWCQ on June 1.
The station had previously been part of Saga’s “Wind-FM” simulcast along with 92.5 WNDD Alachua/Gainesville and 95.5 WYND-FM Silver Springs/Ocala. The new brand becomes co-owned with Classic Country “Country Legends” 940 WLQH/93.1 W226CI Chiefland and 1240 WZCC/96.3 W242CW Cross City FL.
Elliott stated, “I will continue the existing music format of Classic Rock! The only change will be the transformation from a Gainesville-Ocala radio station to a Tri-County radio station serving Levy, Dixie, and Gilchrist counties.”
