The flip places KWME in direct format competition with Audacy’s 103.7 KEYN-FM. As we noted in our 6/21 Domain Insight, is it a coincidence that KEYN Brand Manager and morning host Jack Oliver “retired” from the station and is sitting out his non-compete before reappearing elsewhere in the market after Audacy Wichita sales exec John Pohlman joined Murfin as Wichita General Manager?
KWME became the third Wichita area signal relaunched by Murfin Media following the relaunch of Variety Hits “97.1 Bob-FM” KBOB-FM Haven in late May and KVWF yesterday. The company still needs to relaunch 1130 KLEY/100.3 K262CQ Wellington and 1550 KKLE Winfield.
