Following his layoff from Beasley’s “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM last month, Christian Arcand has returned to Audacy’s 93.7 WEEI-FM Lawrence/Boston MA as producer of the “Merloni, Fauria & Mego” afternoon show and host of a Saturday afternoon show.
Arcand most recently served as producer and co-host of the “Adam Jones Show” in evenings on WBZ-FM. He previously worked at WEEI as an update anchor from 2013-14 and late night host from 2014-17. He also has spent five years hosting afternoons at “ESPN New Hampshire” WGHM/WGAM Manchester NH
Arcand joined WBZ-FM in 2017 after stints in late nights at WEEI and five years hosting at “ESPN New Hampshire” WGHM/WGAM Manchester NH until its 2017 flip to Oldies. He also has had brief stints at KTNI Denver, KOMO Seattle, and Boston Herald Radio.
Audacy welcomes Boston radio veteran Christian Arcand to WEEI (WEEI-FM) as weekend co-host and producer. Arcand will produce the station’s afternoon show “Merloni, Fauria & Mego,” weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET, and host a three-hour weekend show every Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET.
“Christian is a talented guy and a great team player,” said Mike Thomas, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Boston. “A lot of people in the building, including myself, have had the pleasure of working with him in the past. What he will bring to ‘Merloni, Fauria and Mego’ on and off the air will really help propel the show and the station forward.”
“I am thrilled to be back at WEEI, reuniting with Ryan Garvin and working on this great show with Lou, Christian, and Mego,” said Arcand. “Who says you can’t come home?”
Arcand was born and raised in the North End of Boston, launching his career at WBOS in 1999 as an intern. After college and upon returning to New England, Arcand was hired to do weekends at WGAM/ESPN New Hampshire and eventually went on to host multiple drive time shows including “Christian & King” with Tom King and “Arcand and Sheppard” alongside Pete Sheppard. During his time in New Hampshire, Arcand also began doing the sports flash on weekends for WEEI and was soon brought in as a co-host on the “Planet Mikey” show with Mike Adams and then into his own timeslot with the debut of “WEEI Late Night.” Arcand rejoins WEEI after spending the last five years at 98.5 The Sports Hub, where he served as an on-air host.
