The suite of Canadian music channels carried by SiriusXM has undergone changes with the removal of the programming supplied by the CBC.
On October 3, CBC Radio 3 (channel 162), ICI Musique Chansons (channel 163), ICI Musique Franco-Country (channel 166), and CBC Country (channel 171) were removed from the SiriusXM platform. The CBC Radio 3 programming is still audible as a playlist on CBC Music, while the Country programming is now found on CBC Listen.
SiriusXM has replaced the five channels with four in-house programmed channels.
Channel 163 is now French Rock “Attitude Franco“.
Channel 164 launches Canadian Hip Hop/R&B “Mixtape North” with artists including Drake, The Weeknd, Tory Lanez, Jessie Reyez, Kardinal, k-os and Choclair.
Channel 166 becomes “Racines Musicales” with French and Indigenous singer-songwriters.
Channel 171 replaces CBC Country with “Top of the Country Radio” featuring music from the 90s to now with artists featuring Dallas Smith, Megan Patrick, Tenille Townes, Tim Hicks, and Shania Twain.
The change does not effect CBC Radio’s and ICI Radio-Canada’s News/Talk channels on SiriusXM.
