FCC Actions
Following a Petition To Deny its license renewal application by WGHN Inc., Tri-Cities Broadcasting Foundation’s 103.5 WAWL-LP Grand Haven MI has agreed to a Consent Decree over the station broadcastins commercial advertising on a noncommercial educational license. WGHN had submitted 24 examples of commercials running on the station. As part of the settlement, WAWL-LP will pay a $17,500 fine and received a short term license renewal until just October 1, 2024.
Tri-City Radio’s 1000 WJNZ Robertsdale AL has been issued a Notice of Apparent Liability For Forfeiture proposing a $3500 fine for failing to to file its license renewal application on time. WJNZ was supposed to file its renewal application on December 2, 2019 but did not do so until April 1, 2020, the day its license would’ve expired.
KNZA Inc.’s 93.7 KAIR-FM Horton KS and Sunrise Broadcasting’s 730 WJMT Merrill WI have agreed to Consent Decrees for failing to maintain their political files.
Deletions
Following an FCC inquiry into its operating status, Martinsville Media has turned in the license of 1450 WMVA Martinsville VA stating it has been Silent since January 2019.
