[membership level=”2,3″]
The FCC has entered into a Consent Decree with an $8000 civil penalty with One Media for failing to timely notify the commission of a transfer of control.

Nancy Miller, who held 80% of One Media’s voting stock passed away on April 14, 2022 with William Wachter owning the other 20%. Wachter would end up with 100% of the company, but the first transfer of control application noting Wachter as executor of Miller’s estate was not filed until December 2023 and transferring the stations to Wachter himself in September 2024. One Media owns the licenses for Variety Hits “107.5 Bob-FM” 1550 KRZD Springfield MO, Sports “100.7 ESPN” KSHQ Deerfield MO, Conservative Talk “95.3 The Cowboy” KWKN Wakeeney KS, and Classic Hits 106.1 KBZI Mooreland OK.

Despite their move from Oakland to Sacramento while awaiting construction of their new stadium in Las Vegas, MLB’s Athletics will continue their relationship with iHeartMedia.

Conservative Talk 650 KSTE Sacramento will take over as the franchise’s broadcast home for the 2025 season. Games will also continue to be heard in the Bay Area on “iHeart Sports 960” KNEW, which had been the flagship for the Oakland Athletics from 2020 through 2024, and the “A’s Cast” stream on iHeartRadio.

Longtime voice of the franchise Ken Korach as well as Johnny Doskow and Chris Caray will continue to cover Athletics games. KSTE and A’s Cast will carry thirty minute pre and post-game shows for all games with the streaming channel also carrying “A’s Cast Live” for two and half hours before all weeknight games, the “A’s Clubhouse Show” after games, and “A’s After Dark” after every home game. Fresh Listen: Athens Radio

When I went to Radiodays Europe for the first time two years ago, I found a favorite radio station. Prague’s Europa 2 was playing a Top 40 mix very different than anything available in North America, including still having some pop/rock component. I’ve gotten an early start on my listening for this year’s Radiodays, to be held in Athens on March 9-11, and I’ve already found at least one station that I think will be a ROR readers’ favorite.
