Carson Blackley has stepped down as Program Director/midday host at iHeartMedia Country “B93.9” WNCB Cary/Raleigh NC.
Blackley wrote on social media, “I’ve never been more sure of my decision to hang up the headphones. I’ve learned from and worked with the best country programmers. What an opportunity that was! Leaving the iHeartCountry family may be the hardest part but ultimately, my priorities changed. It’s time for something different.”
She had spent her entire career with iHeartMedia starting as an intern in 2013. Her first full-time on-air role was hosting nights at WNCB in early 2014 followed by a few months in afternoons at sister CHR “G105” WDCG. She moved to Pittsburgh to host middays at Country “Big 104.7” WPGB in September 2014 and would add Music Director duties, but would return to WNCB in that same role in September 2017. She was promoted to Program Director in June 2020.
