Just eight months after flipping to Hot Talk, Beasley Media’s “X107.5” KXTE Pahrump/Las Vegas has brought longtime 92.3 KOMP host Carlota Gonzalez back to the market and initiated a “music takeover”.
The station is playing mostly 90s and 2000s Classic Alternative and Rock leaning toward the harder side of the genre. The takeover started at 10am with Carlota cutting into Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” halfway through to bring “the X that you used to know back”.
The 12pm hour featured:
- Love & Rockets – So Alive
- Sum 41 – Fat Lip
- Deftones – Change (In The House of Flies)
- My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade
- Blink 182 – Dammit
- Metallica – Whiskey In The Jar
- James – Laid
- Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit
- Bloodhound Gang – Fire Water Burn
- Stabbing Westward – Save Yourself
- Sublime – Smoke Two Joints
- Korn – Got The Life
- Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)
- Falling In Reverse – Popular Monster
- Linkin Park – Lying From You
- System Of A Down – Aerials
- Cypress Hill – Insane In The Brain
Gonzalez previously worked at Lotus Rock 92.3 KOMP from 1998 until June 2020. She most recently spent a year and a half at Audacy’s “98 Rock” KRXQ Sacramento until exiting in March.
Beasley flipped KXTE to Hot Talk in December 2022 after closing on its acquisition of the former Alternative “Alt 107.5” from Audacy. Longtime KXTE morning hosts Dave & Mahoney remain in mornings. The station had added Compass Media Networks’ “Free Beer & Hot Wings” for middays, whose presence has been wiped from the station’s website. WRIF Detroit and Key Networks’ “Dave and Chuck The Freak” currently air in afternoons and Beasley’s “Cooper & Anthony” at night.
KXTE registered a 1.4 share in the June 2023 Nielsen Audio ratings.
