After just six months as Program Director of CHR “106 KHQ” 105.9 WKHQ Charlevoix and Classic Country “Star Country 106.7” WSRT Gaylord , Bill ‘Broadway’ Bertschinger has resigned from the MacDonald Garber Broadcasting Traverse City MI cluster.
Bertschinger also hosted mornings at WKHQ. Prior to joining the stations in February, he served as APD/afternoon host at Cumulus’ “New Country 93.1” WDRQ Detroit and previously hosted mornings. He has also hosted mornings at “Y108” WDSY Pittsburgh, “Country 92.5” WWYZ Hartford, and “99.9 Kiss Country” WKIS-FM Miami, nights and mornings at CHR 104.5 WSNX Grand Rapids, and nights at “B93” WBCT Grand Rapids and “Z107.7” KSLZ St. Louis. He continues to track afternoons on Cumulus CHR “105.3 Hot-FM” WHTS-FM Coopersville/Grand Rapids.
Bertschinger’s co-host Kristin ‘KP’ Penrose, who had joined WKHQ alongside him, had departed the station in mid-July. Penrose previously worked in promotions for Cumulus Media Detroit.
